PepsiCo’s Bold Plan

When you visit a restaurant, movie theater, sports venue, or convention center, does it concern you that there just don’t seem to be as many options for recycling as there are for trash? We know our landfills have a finite amount of space and yet we seem to find ourselves living in a world where that doesn’t matter.

Over the past few years, recycling rates for aluminum and many common plastics have been falling in the United States. The result: 22 million tons of household recyclables are landfilled every year. In fact, studies show that almost 70% of all potentially recyclable plastic bottles in the United States end up in landfills, on the street, or in the ocean.

This downward trend matters to PepsiCo, parent company of Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Tropicana, Gatorade, and Quaker, and member of NTCRA. Through their Performance with Purpose program, Pepsico is committed to positive change and demonstrating that you can deliver top products in a sustainable manner!

PepsiCo has a plan!

PepsiCo is partnering with The Recycling Partnership on an initiative we’re calling “All In On Recycling” to reverse the decline in U.S. residential recycling rates over the next five years.
